Answers Part 3

Part 3 to answers about me.

Lissa asked how G and I met.
Well ya see I know this couple. The husband (Scott) kept telling me that I needed to meet one of his friends. I was dating someone else at the time and was not interested. One Friday afternoon I received a phone call from Scott. He said that they were having a gathering that night and wanted me to come out. I agreed to go and then I found out "this guy" was going to be there. I met this guy, I had a really good time learning a new card game and then went on my way. Two weeks later they had another card night. I went out. That night their friend "G" wasn't there. They went on to explain that he had just had his divorce finalized the Monday after I met him. Oh, I was mad. I know for a year Scott had been trying to get me to go out with him and come to find out he was even divorced yet. I then went out to their house when I wanted, I didn't really care if he was there cause I wasn't getting involved in the post divorce drama.. well let me say that never ends but anyways. I just did my thing. I saw G here and there and we talked about common stuff and that was it. About 6 months later I had just crawled in to bed around 10 pm when my phone rang. I couldn't even think of who would be calling me. I answered and it was G. We went out that Saturday night and the rest is history. I did ask him why he waited so long and he explained. He was newly divorced, had two daughters almost or full time, he was finishing his basement, work, school, and he just needed time to be "free" I understood and now we are together. The End. ~Cathy

More answers about me

Here are a few more answers to the questions asked.

Cathy Davis asked if I read or what books I like to read.
I am not a book person. I may get into a book a couple times a year. I just don't like to read. I read all kinds of different things on the internet all the time but as far as a book..No, not my favorite thing to do.

Lissa asked if I have any tattoos.
No- I don't have a single tattoo. I don't like wearing the same bracelet, watch or earrings for too long at a time. I would totally get tired of the same old tattoo. I wish I could commit to one but not right now. The other reason is I would want to get it some place it didn't show all the time and let me just say NO ONE is going "there" to start with so...no

More to come later~Cathy

My favorite vacation

Cathy from TCKK asked what is my favorite vacation.

Answer- I don't know that I have a actual favorite. I have been several places at different times of my life and they are all neat in their own way.

Let's start when I was little. I didn't care much for the cave trips. Boring to me but I did them and I lived. We went to Michigan mushroom hunting one year with my aunt and uncle and that was fun. I loved mushroom hunting. We went over the border to Canada I guess just to say we were there and now I can say "we were there". We went to the german town- Frankenmuth and I really want to go back there but no one else ever seems to be interested in Michigan.

Mom and dad took us to Gatlinburg and Cherokee, NC. A few years back I went to Cherokee and it didn't have the same feel as I remember. I will have to think about my very favorite vaca...really any that I'm not at home or work. ~Cathy

So ya wanna know?

Well I put out my feelers the other day and I got a response. Some of you poor soles want to know a few things about me. I know you could really care less if I have a tattoo or a cat named Fluffy, Puff, Duffy and Dodie but I'm gonna answer your questions since your were so nice to help me out. I don't know if I'll get them all answered tonight due to the fact that's if Friday night in the big city and I'm at work waiting to save some stupid ass drunk from his/her life of pity. I love my job...I love my job.... stupid ass drunks. Any who here I go.

First question from Cathy over at TCKK- opps phone rang..hang on!!! Ok back..see this will take all night.

Her first question- Where did I come from and what was my childhood like..

Answer-
I was born in Greenville Ohio about 40 some years ago. I was born breech and both hip sockets were out of place. I had reconstructive hip surgery when I was about 3.

I grew up in a small Burg in SW Ohio. There's not that many burgs but I won't go into great detail. I have one younger brother. My mom stayed home with us. I have said this before I could come home at 1030 at night and my clothes would washed and dried when I got up at 530.

My dad was a police officer, sheriff and chief of police at different points in my life and then he went to GM for a better job to support my chronic injury stage which still occurs to this day. I have the weirdest illnesses and injuries. Like I said before it all started when I came out butt first- that there was my first problem of many. I just laugh when someone asks if I have any scars from surgery.. I look like a road map.

I went to school in the same school district from start to finish. I graduated with about 88 people in my class. We had 4 - 4th grade classes and now my son had 15-16 4th grade classes, what a difference.

I loved to play in the woods and loved loved loved to play school and house. I drove a big wheel to and from work back in those days.

I loved gymnastics and used to wrap sleeping bags around a 2x4 to make a balance beam in the garage. I loved roller skating and wanted to be an ice skater. I wanted to go to the Olympics in either skating or gymnastics. In 7th grade I was released by the doctor and told that I could finally take gymnastics. That weekend I fell out of a tree and sprained my ankle. I never got to take the first class. I did get to see the 1980 US Men's and Romania Women's Olympic gymnastic team. It was so cool. I had to go on crutches which was kind of cool cause I thought everyone would think I got hurt doing a fancy dancy move but really I was climbing a tree on a Friday night at a friends house and fell which wasn't a good story to tell.

Because I couldn't go to school on crutches cause I had this thing about falling up the stairs and was afraid to fall down the stairs I stayed home a lot. I would go out in the yard and do homework and talk to this wild stray cat. I finally caught her and named her Fluffy. Fluffy then went on to have Puff, Duff and Dodie and Yoda (Yoda died soon after birth)

I also played soccer from 5th grade til I was a Sophomore. That ended quickly when the male goalie on the other team rolled my knee backwards and I ended up in surgery later that week.

I then cheered when I was a Junior- my first and last year of cheering except when I was in 4th grade. We did really well that year and won almost every competition. We went to Nationals at Virginia Beach. We all walked around Colonial Williamsburg where my Aunt Dottie gave me $20.00 to spend. Hi Aunt Dottie. I don't remember what I got but I remember her giving me that money. I thought I was rich..well back then I guess I was.

I graduated from high school, took some medical classes, ran fire and ems and moved down South were I got this job (Police/Fire Dispatcher) and I have been here ever since.

Oh I could go on forever but the guys are working chasing the bad pathetic drunk parents around town. Til next time.. see ya.

Pioneer Woman in Ohio--Not!!!!

Today in my kitchen I am making Grannie Grace's Cole Slaw. Let me warn you, Ree- The Pioneer Woman is not here so don't expect great photos taken in raw then doctored up with Photoshop cause I can't use it. I hit the auto correct button on my picture manager and waaalaaa.
First the picture of ingredients.
Cabbage
Carrots
The sauce-
Miracle Whip - I show real mayo but it didn't taste right and I don't remember what I usually use cause I haven't made it in a while so I started out with this and then went with Miracle Whip
Apple Cider Vinegar
Sugar
Salt and Pepper
I don't have Ree's fancy dancy knives but I have one from Rada (which I will get more) that I love, it's awesome. Until I win one from PW I won't know the difference. Just chop the cabbage and carrots up to your desire. If I'm in a big hurry I make chunky but G doesn't really like it chunky.Throw it in a bowl. I usually use my little electric chopper/food processor thingy but it is kind of broken from years of abuse so I had to hand chop it. It's all good.I salt and pepper the top of everything and then mix it. My theory- If ya mix it and can't see it then you don't have enough. Then mix the vinegar, Miracle Whip and sugar together. Now remember in past posts I don't measure anything. I make a little and pour it in..if it's too dry then I make more. It all depends on how much cabbage you use and how runny you want it.
Aren't these great PW looking pictures..yeah right I know. I am trying to pour and take pictures with one clean finger. I know ya get the point. I even turned on an extra light. Wasn't that nice of me? The final product..Grannie Grace's Cole Slaw. Let it set til dinner is done with a few flops in the mean time and waalaaa.. Cole Slaw.. Is that how you spell Waaalaa?
Thank you for visiting my cooking show today. Tune in later for the ribs covered in Montgomery Inn sauce that are baking as we speak. Yummo.. If you haven't had Montgomery Inn ribs you are missing out. Check out their website. You can order them all over the country.. They will dry ship them to you. They are the best. See ya at dinner.

Dance and Racing

Well dance is almost over. One more competition this Sunday and then Nationals at the end of March. It's been an exciting winter with learning the ropes of the dance world. Our girls have done well and they are excited for Florida. I guess I need to be getting things ready or I'll be packing the night before. Years ago I would start packing or at least throwing things in a suitcase as I thought of it. These last few years I go up the night before and throw it in and hope I have everything. I have not researched the maps, hotel or competition venue. I need to get busy doing that or I'll get in the car and G will ask "Where are we going." I will huff and say "Hell if I know I thought you took care of that."

After Florida we will have a few weeks off before D starts racing. This is his favorite pic.We are getting his stuff together now. We need to buy gear, gloves, chest protector, peel offs for goggles. He got boots, helmet and goggles for Christmas. I actually am really excited about his racing. He has been getting mentally prepared all winter. He doesn't remember his wreck so that isn't stopping him. He is still mad cause we didn't let him get up and finish the race. Yeah right.. I bought ice packs yesterday to be prepared. Not that he needed ice packs the day of his race but he might in the future. All he needed was a x ray and a cat scan.. something I can't fit into my purse. Saturday night we watched a race and he gave me a motocross 101 class. I am so excited he wants to share this with me. Now I feel more informed as to why, why and why they do what they do. ~Cathy

Happy Birthday Emma Sue

Today is Miss Emma Sue's 2nd birthday. She is such a big girl, a whole 7 lbs. She is such a sweet little thing. More birthday pictures in her new birthday dress coming as soon as I do some house work. Shhh..no one knows I'm in the den on the computer. Laundry is piling up, dishes need loaded, a major 10 minute tidy needs to be done but I am celebrating my baby girl at the moment. Cat / Dog love.

Baxter can't stand that she doesn't bathe herself so he does it for her. Until she bites his bummmmmm then he's done.

New Breakfast Menu

A few nights ago G and I had dinner at The Claddaugh Irish Pub. We ate beef stew that was to die for and for desert I had Bread Pudding. Not something that I would wreck the car to get to but it was good. Then for some reason tonight I was craving it. So I jumped up and went into the kitchen and whipped these two babies up. I call it French Casserole-
This one has chocolate chips

and this one has raisins. This one is just casserole style french toast and much easier. I have always hated dunking the bread piece by piece to make french toast so now I know what to do.
This is Miss Emma Sue the clean up crew in her wooly mammoth winter fur.
They are both good so I have decided for breakfast on the weekends I will throw this to the troops and see what they think. Now I don't follow directions nor do I measure anything so here's how I did it.
List of ingredients-
Bread
Eggs
Milk
Vanilla
Sugar
Cinnamon, raisins, chocolate chips.
I tore up slices of bread into big pieces. Placed them into two small casserole dishes.
I then topped one with chocolate chips and the other with raisins.
I mixed eggs, milk, vanilla and some pure sugar cane. (the raisin one I added cinnamon)
I dumped (proper cooking terminology) the mixture in the dish and made sure the bread was covered.
I sprinkled them both with pure sugar again and threw them in the oven at 450 degrees til golden brown.
I think I might try bananas or cranberries.

Joaquin

Usually when on happy drugs they talk your ear off with random off the wall crap that doesn't make sense the first time let alone the 3rd time. Watch this video and give me your thoughts. What kind of drugs might he be on? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zAQ4x7rgS6I

Misc pics

I know nothing about baseball cards...but... I think anyone could say that a Mickey Mantle press plate would be worth just a little bit. I understand that a press plate is like a silk screen. This is the magenta one. G's nephew got it in a box that we bought him for his birthday. How exciting is that? Storm trooper in action. Help I was shot with a Star Wars gun. A new storm trooper cadet.

These gals were kind of odd to watch. It was almost disturbing.

This girl looked at me the whole dance. I guess she liked getting her picture taken.

Lipstick

Lipstick - I was looking in my purse and found all these lipsticks.. What color do ya think I wear the most. They are all the same but not. I love Mary Kay lipstick. I have a few or so... I think my last count on total lips was something absurd like 42. ... I guess in reality I do collect something. Lipstick. Gosh, that is terrible. 42.

Here is my list I posted before. I don't know why I sat down one day and did this. I guess I was tired of not knowing what I had and I had to take the lid off and look. I am crazy.

Bounce rate

I have a question..does anyone know what their bounce rate is.. would you like to share. Mine is 78.12 nice huh? I know a good rate is like 20 something..yeah I'm no where close to that. I just wondered if anyone else watched this.

The stupid ass questions I have at 3 am..~Cathy

Looking for the cache

January 2nd G and I took the one monster and went geocaching for a bit. We also took Miss Emma with us. She rides on my upper back and her head on my shoulder. She does make a comfy neck pillow. We stopped in Lebanon at the Veteran Monument to look for the cache.

This little park is kind of in the middle of downtown but it's so peaceful.

G looked and looked but we never found the cache. Actually we never found any that day. Shucks.
We actually complained that day that it was too cold to be outside..I would take that day back in a heartbeat.. A friend asked me the other day if I had been out geocaching...I wonder has she been outside lately. I didn't even know what to say..UMMMMM NO!!!!
~Cathy

Another snow day

Another snow day.. the kids are bored. I can kind of hear them laughing upstairs. They are bored.. They want to go to school, they have had enough snow days. D went outside to slide for a few. It's too cold to be out long. Him texting..imagine that....

Big Foot, Moose, Llama?

Saturday night the girls mentioned that when they were outside in the daylight that they saw these strange foot prints in the snow. I told them they were deer and they said Oh no, not deer they were like this and drew this shape out in the carpet. It was about a 6 inch long oval by 3in wide and then on top had a 2 pointed crown. I tried to everything, moose..in Ohio? Big Foot, G rolled his eyes, Ostrich? They were having non of this. I had to put on my robe and mammoth crocs and go tracking out in the yard to look. Oh, and they reminded me to take the camera after G told them it was probably feeding time for the creature.. Thanks G. Anyways here's what I came back with. Okay at first I came in and said "yep, deer" but that was just looking at them with the flash of my camera, today when I looked at them I said those aren't deer those are rabbit or bunny tracks. You help me decide. You'd think I could tell the difference but apparently not. Below (the small pics) are pictures of bunny and deer tracks you decide..
Big foot, yep Big Foot and I survived. All was good in the house after that and then they went to bed to sleep another night without being taken by the mean ole' creature outside.
That was the Saturday night excitement.
Here are some pics off the internet from people that know more than me. You decide. bunny
bunny with a long tail or somethingdeerdeer -I say mine look like this bottom one. What'cha think?

Let it snow..OK, Enough already!!

I usually do pretty good at driving and taking pictures but last week I only got a few due to the layers of ice and snow and ice and snow on the roads. I bet I made it to 25-30 mph 3 times last week. One of the monsters took these pictures out our back door. That's as far as she made it. It was nasty.

We had to pick a girl up for dance in a neighboring town. We crept along.. I hate driving in this stuff.

This guy would pull up to the stop bar and tripped the light. We (all 10-15 cars) sat there yelling for him to pull up. Finally I went around him and then everyone followed. I think I saw in my mirror where he finally ran the red light to get through. I hear there is more snow coming today and the next few..Yeah, Yuck, Spit, Spat...I can't wait. I have had enough. I want spring.
