Would you?

We have been watching Hurricane Ike all night. We talked about those that would not leave and now they are calling for help. How could they even have the nerve to call and ask for help.. HELLLLOOO!!! Weren't they listening for the past 3 or 4 days. Anywho- it's done and over, someone will have to risk their life to go out and get these jerks. How hard would it have been to pack the important things and go..

I have thought about all the items that I would want to take and then what I could actually take.
Here is my list:

clothes- of course and

jewelry, scrapbooks, baby books, videos, cd and dvd, papers, the kids baby things, D's military collection, baseball cards.

After all the important things that everyone would take I would take my Patrick Nagel- it's the cover of Duran Duran's Rio album, my boyfriend at the time bought it for me when I moved into my first apt down here. I love it. I doesn't quite go with the country decor that I have now but I will always keep it. Since I don't know how long I wanted a Nagel and I was lucky enough at age 22 to get one. Here is a picture of it. My son used to think it was me. Yeah right,, oh, he was young.

I am sure there are other things but looking at this list isn't it amazing of all the junk we have that we don't really need.

Okay it's your turn, what a few things beside to normal--pictures, kids, animals, medication.. what are some other things that mean a lot to you?

I have had 2 house fires in my life in which I have lost everything. So, of course, number one is PHOTOS!! I hate, hate, hate, that I lost all my photos from before age 16.

I would take my box of special things my kids have made, my Grandpa's painting hanging in my living room, my computer of course, and my camera.

And, yeah, those dumb people who stayed when they were told to evacuate.... I don't think it should be anyone's responsibility to go rescue them.

This is such a hard question. You are right that we have so many things. Maybe that is why those people didn't leave. They looked at all the stuff and thought there was too much to take. Who knows. It's mind blowing to me.

Thanks for the recent visit. Sorry it took so long to get by. This is a great post and it got me to thinking.

Hmmmm. What to take?
