Help me out here

Okay, since I am throwing around this idea of starting a small (and I mean small) business of motocross photography for all of the dirt boys that come out and race on weekends I need a business name.

Something catchy that they can remember that has to do with dirt, bikes, races, motocross, pictures, jumps, more dirt and some wreck pics. Cause they love their wreck pics.. they want to see exactly how they flew through the air when they ended up in the hospital and can't remember the next 4-5 days after including a trip to Washington DC..hmmm .... YES, that would be my son, the one and only D...he told us around December that he doesn't really remember his Washington trip after his severe concussion.. NICE!!!!! And remember back last fall when we took a trip to the ER for a shoulder..yeah he hurt it again last night. If I ever get my hands on that Travis Pastrana.. D watched his movie called "199 lives" it shows all of his wrecks and injuries and D wants to be just like him... please don't tell my insurance company...

Anywho- I am asking you all, the smartest people in the world... What would be a good, short, catchy name for my business..? I wanted MOTOPHOTO..but that was already taken. I thought about DIRT BOY PHOTOS.. Well leave me some ideas and I will make the D man pick the winner.. Thanks friends- Cathy

It's that time

It's race time again.
D is going to practice for a few months to get his bearings again before racing. The plan is they will start in the middle of summer. I have a feeling by the middle of April the race will be on. For those of you that weren't around last fall, D wrecked back in October and received a nasty concussion and some road burn. Needless to say his race year was over and he doesn't remember a thing about the wreck.. That could be a good thing or bad. I guess good for him cause he's not afraid to go back out there and try it again.

Last week I posted this picture of D in his new race gear. I haven't got any good pics of it but he jumped in the bathroom, tried it on and snapped a pic. When he wrecked he broke his helmet and tore his gear. He was wearing boots that had some bad history soooooo. For Christmas he got a new Thor (I think it is Thor)helmet. I would have to run look but I'm not.. then he got new Alpine Star boots..new ones to to make his own history. With a gift certificate he got new Von Zipper goggles and he had his Leatt brace from the year before. I will say it again- I do truly believe that his Leatt brace saved his neck and back. I saw the wreck/flip/drop and I said to my self then.. It did it's job, it did what it was supposed to.. as I was running, screaming and about to hyperventilate. So now we are getting the rest of his things together. He just got his Thor black with white polka dotted gear. It does look a little silly but it's that kind that Chad Reed-Pro wears and it is different. I am proud of him for being able to stand out. We still need to order THOR gloves and a chest protector. I think if he would have had the chest protector on he wouldn't have had the road burn. Maybe not but he's wearing one now. The weather is to be nice this weekend and the plan went from visiting a friend that just got a new bike to taking all the boys to the track and ride. I guess I better get some sandwiches packed.

Dance and Racing

Well dance is almost over. One more competition this Sunday and then Nationals at the end of March. It's been an exciting winter with learning the ropes of the dance world. Our girls have done well and they are excited for Florida. I guess I need to be getting things ready or I'll be packing the night before. Years ago I would start packing or at least throwing things in a suitcase as I thought of it. These last few years I go up the night before and throw it in and hope I have everything. I have not researched the maps, hotel or competition venue. I need to get busy doing that or I'll get in the car and G will ask "Where are we going." I will huff and say "Hell if I know I thought you took care of that."

After Florida we will have a few weeks off before D starts racing. This is his favorite pic.We are getting his stuff together now. We need to buy gear, gloves, chest protector, peel offs for goggles. He got boots, helmet and goggles for Christmas. I actually am really excited about his racing. He has been getting mentally prepared all winter. He doesn't remember his wreck so that isn't stopping him. He is still mad cause we didn't let him get up and finish the race. Yeah right.. I bought ice packs yesterday to be prepared. Not that he needed ice packs the day of his race but he might in the future. All he needed was a x ray and a cat scan.. something I can't fit into my purse. Saturday night we watched a race and he gave me a motocross 101 class. I am so excited he wants to share this with me. Now I feel more informed as to why, why and why they do what they do. ~Cathy
