Year in photos- June 2008

My famous or more like Ree's famous Pica de Gallo. I made this almost every week during the summer. Beautiful summer clouds.

My main man D.
New dance mittens for the new dancer in the family. She loves it. Finally she found something she enjoys.
We took the kids to the Drive in- We saw Wall-E..Horrible movie but it was the experience. I loved the drive in when I was a kid. I don't think ours feel the same way.
Watch my garden grow. This remote control airplane crashed in our drive. We were standing on the sidewalk and I just told the kids to watch in case they crash and it took a turn and dive bombed for the drive. I was not a very happy camper when the guys showed up to collect their scraps.
Flowers in my garden.
Baxter enjoying the warm weather.
SWAT training. Boys and their toys.

Holiday cookfest

First the empty kitchen table. I hope to have it filled with pies tonight.I grow my own jalapenos and then freeze them in a Ziploc bag. When I want one I let it set for a few minutes in cold water so I can get the knife into it and then use it for my Pica De Gallo and Apple Salsa. Again I love my little cutter. I would stand in a store all day to promote this little thing. It's awesome. I use Sea Salt in everything. I like it cause it's coarser.

Pica De Gallo- got it from the Pioneer Woman, Organic tomatoes, Organic Cilantro (my favorite herb) Organic or homegrown jalapenos and onion with a dash of Sea Salt and a quirt of lime juice. I cook fresh cranberries with sugar and then made cranberry salad. I added walnuts, mandarin oranges, apple and raspberry Jello with the cooked cranberries. It will probably taste like shit but oh well, it looks good.

I also made sausage dip but my pictures look..well..gross so I'll just tell you.
1 roll of Bob Evans sausage (white package)
1 bar cream cheese
1 can of Rotel Red and Green chilies (juice and all)
Mix it all up and serve with chips. If ya need more just double..yummo.
Okay now off to infuse fresh cranberries with Vodka..oh yeah and make pies, cheese ball and anything else I can get done tonight..See ya in a bit.

Our weekend

This is the first weekend that G and I have had a childless weekend since March. It's kind of weird cause there is always somebody here. Since yesterday the girls have been with their mom and my son is with his dad. I hope they are having fun. We just needed a break once in a while to look at each other and ask. "What do WE want to do?" G is at work right now and I have been making Pica de Gallo and Apple Salsa and then we are going out.

I also cleaned this blog off of all the old posts. I really enjoy journaling our lives. It's kind of like an online scrapbook that my friends and family can see and keep up with us since they are so far away. This is a new chapter and I hope you enjoy it.
