Year in Pictures- August 2008

Well in July we had one big birthday party for the two oldest monsters. We had 24 (2 are missing) teenagers over for swimming, food and a bon fire. I have to say this was easier than 5 feuding 10 years olds. This is D and his BFF.. See the poison ivy on his face from making the rope swing. Well, that's not the only place he had it...but I didn't see that...wink wink

Cousin D after his foot surgery to remove the chunk of metal.
My little Miss Emma Sue..the Diva.
Bowling with dad.
D getting ready for races. I love this picture.
The collection.. They are like purses. Which one should I ride today?
My baby boy.. has my dad's eyes.
One last free day before school starts.
Like most parents our lives don't revolve around kids at all, can ya tell?

Year in photos- July 2008

I sat in the water all day yelling across the lake at the family of boys making this rope swing. I had the jet ski ready in case of problems. I took about 1000 pictures of them that day...no kiddin.. Finally they got the brush cut out and the rope in place. The next day D was covered with poison ivy.. nice. You know what happens when ya pee in the woods..yeah..down there. Big boys introducing the newest male family member to the water. They were teaching him the ways of the world, only going about 5 mph.. you can tell they are real concerned that they might fall off. This is like riding a bike to them. They had to do more work just keeping the float from floppin over forward and dumping little Hunter into the water. I remember when D was this little guy..he has been a water baby since the day he was born. When I was pregnant with him I was on bed rest so I would go to the lake and lay on a raft and the family would bring me my pills so I didn't have contractions and I would sun and drink water and pee on myself all day. Oh, that was the life.

They got some Captain in them or so they think. This is the only other time Cousin D had his dang boots off except for the day he rode the dirt bike and wrecked and had metal in his foot and ended up in surgery after finally telling the truth and yeah....and he won't do that again..
D taking a break from the sun. I think he has that same ole' bracelet on to this day.. Ok, yuck. He had also just got his fancy dancy braces. Isn't he handsome? He's my boy,, my one and only baby boy. Oh how I wish he was little again.
Now this is ridin'
And this is canoeing when everyone else jumped ship to swim back. Thank goodness G came along and pulled him back..with the others hanging on. Lazy kids.
We all went to Coney Island. They swam, rode ride and we all had family therapy (the good kind) on the bumper cars.

We took the kids to Sharon Woods. They played in the creek and we all rode paddle boats around chasing ducks. Just kiddin'
That's it for July.. I don't know why I don't have more pics..This must have been our slow month. More of my year in photos to come..

73/365

This is D and Cousin D on Thanksgiving day. Now you have to remember that Cousin D doesn't have a mom that follows her kids around with a camera every waking moment. So as D is yelling put the camera away Cousin D takes the opportunity to show his photogenic side...or not. He has no problem posing while D on the other hand puts his hood up and then says to him.."ya know this will end up on her blog?" Cousin D says: "Man, I don't care." I only wish D felt that way. I really don't chase them around with the camera but I do seem to have it out alot and it may be rubbing off just a bit.. tune in tomorrow for D's pictures from behind the camera.

Was he wearing his boots? update

Here is the new fashion statement of the summer. Boots and swim trunks.

Does everyone see these boots that cousin D is wearing. Well he doesn't take them off for nothing, period. Saturday I received a call from his mom saying that he couldn't make it to the pool party cause he cut his foot. G's first question "He didn't he have his boots on?" Good question. He told his mom that he stepped wrong on the pavers and it put a stab like wound his in the side of his ankle. I thought it sounded a little fishy but whatever. Today my son tells me that he is having surgery. ?? WHAT ?? Well I couldn't get a hold of his mom but the info streaming from the teenager is that he really wrecked his dirt bike that he is not to be on when his mom isn't home. Okay so he wrecked.. still "Why didn't he have his boots on." I mean come on he wore them with his swim trunks at the lake. Anywho, he has a piece of metal in his foot and is having surgery but the teenage messenger can't remember when or where. Kids.
